UK funds hydrogen storage project
The UK government's Engineering and
Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) has awarded Gavin Walker
and David Grant of the University of Nottingham £442,190 (about $845,000)
for the project Designing
Novel High Capacity Multicomponent Hydrides for Near-Ambient Solid
State Hydrogen Stores.
The aim of the project is to develop materials that store
substantial amounts of hydrogen and release it at relatively low temperatures,
two key requirements for using hydrogen as a vehicle fuel.
