DOE taps 12 teams for solar grid funds

The Department of Energy has awarded up to $24 million to 12 corporate and corporate-university research teams to boost photovoltaics as part of the Solar Energy Grid Integration Systems initiative.

The research teams will develop electronics to help integrate home-based and utility-scale photovoltaic systems into the electric power grid.
