Algae research spawns biofuel
startups
A
pair of startups aim to commercialize university research in algae-based
biofuels.
University of Washington research will form the core
technology for startup AXI.
The company will work with biofuel producers to tailor strains of
algae for specific types of fuel.
Startup Heliae Development will
commercialize Arizona State University research in producing jet
fuel from algae.
