NREL taps Iberdrola to measure
sunshine
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory
has teamed
with Iberdrola Renewables, Inc.,
the US subsidiary of Spanish power company Iberdrola, to measure the
strength and consistency of sunlight.
The collaboration's measuring stations will be spread across
Arizona. They are the first of a nationwide network that will collect
data as part of NREL's Solar Resource and Meteorological Assessment
Project. The collaboration with energy companies is designed to minimize
the risk of building solar energy plants.
