UK launches biofuels research center
The UK government has launched a biofuels research center with a £27 million ($39 million) investment. The Sustainable Bioenergy Centre will do research on cellulosic biofuels from nonfood plants and agricultural and industrial waste.
The center will perform scientific, economic and environmental research.
The center is funded by the government's Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and 15 industrial partners. The center is spread across the Universities of Cambridge, Dundee, York and Nottingham, and the company Rothamsted Research.
