DOD funds cellulosic biofuel
project
The Department of Defense has awarded
University of Massachusetts Amherst professor George Huber $1.9 million
to develop methods of converting cellulosic biomass into fuel precursors.
The project's aim is to develop cost-effective methods of
breaking down wood and agricultural scraps into hydrocarbons that
can be refined into jet fuel and other liquid fuels.
